Getting to Madara Omaya
From Varna Airport (40 minutes)
Varna Airport is the closest international airport and receives flights from across Europe. From the airport, take the E70 motorway west towards Shumen. After approximately 70 km, take the exit for Madara (signed). The village is 4 km south of the motorway. Total drive time is around 40 minutes. Car hire is available at the airport from all major providers.
From Shumen (10 minutes)
Head east on the main road towards Varna. The turnoff for Madara is clearly signed. The village is just a few minutes off the main road.
From Sofia (4 hours)
Take the Hemus motorway (A2) east towards Varna. Exit at Shumen and follow signs for Madara. The drive is approximately 380 km and takes around 4 hours.
